NATIONAL TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION
The Govt. of India awards 1000 National Talent Search Examination Scholarship for std. VIII th & X th each studies at IX th & X th as well as + 2 stage and beyond.
The national Council of Educational Research & Training (New Delhi) is Nodal Agency for organisation, conduct selection, awarding and monitoring Scholarship.
The NTS Scholarship Examination is organised in two stages 1) State Level 2) National level. Every State is earmarked with state level quota for NTS examination, every state prepares state level select list as per the quota or state level NTS Examination.
Maharashtra State has been given the quota of 500 for VIII th & 500 for X th for National Talent Search Examinations: 2006-07.
In Maharashtra State, the state level NTS Examination has been organised by Maharashtra state Council of Examinations, 17, Dr. Ambedkar Road, Pune State level NTS Examination has been conducted on 2 nd Sunday i.e. on 12 th Nov. 2006.
The state Level NTS Examination has two papers of 90 minutes duration is having 100 questions of multiple choices, objective type questions.
Paper I General Mental Ability Test
Paper II Scholastic Aptitude Test.

All questions in each paper are compulsory. The pre and post examination fully computerised, inclusive of evaluation. |

There is no negative marking system in the Examination. |

The question papers available in Marathi, Hindi, English, Urdu, Sindi, Kanada, Telgu and Gujrati. The question papers are also available in English for Semi-English Students. |

Eligibility : |
|
Only those candidates studying in Class VIII th & X th are eligible for NTS examination who are regular students of any govt. regonised school. |
|
The candidate will be eligible to appear at the state level NTS examination the state in which the candidate is registered or intend to register as a regular candidate with Board of Secondary school education of the state for VIII th & X th examination. No domicile restrions shall be imposed. |
Application
Form : The application forms for state Level NTS examination available by the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations, Pune through the Education officer (secondary), Zilla Parishad, Education inspector (South/North/West) Mumbai, during July and August every year.
Examination Fee : Rs.120/- per candidate to be paid in the form of Demand draft drawn on any Nationalised bank along with application form duly completed submitted to Education officer (Sec.) Zilla Parishad of the District/ Education Mumbai through respective school before 31st August every year.
Examination Centre : There are around 171 examination centres for VIII th & 131 for X th state Level NTS Examinations, at least one each at the District H.Q.
District Level Nodal Officers : The education officers (Sec)of Zilla Parishad Education inspectors (South/North/West) Mumbai are nodal officers at district Maharashtra State for this Examination.
The State Govt. normally declares the names of selected candidates for NTS (National Level) Examination in the month of March every year.
The NCERT conducts the NTS (National Level) Examination in two Stages -
1. Written Examination at all State Head Quarter on 2nd Sunday of May every year.
2. Viva voces of candidates who have been eligible on the basis of National Level written examination, in July/August every year. The selected scholars are informed by NCERT.
In the academic year 2006-2007, the State Level NTS Examination was organised on 12 th Nov. 2006 in all the districts of Maharashtra State. The State Level select list of 500 candidates of VIII th & X th each from Maharashta State for ensuing NTS Examination (National Level) is declared on 29th March 2007.
The Selected candidates have been informed about their selection for NTS (National Level) examination by the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations, Pune. The National Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi will be conducting National Level NTS Examination on Sunday, 13 th May 2007. The selected candidates will be informed with seat no. and centre of written examination by -

and centre of NTS ( National Level ) Examination.
